International schools help fund community library in Tohoku

Thanks in part to the generosity of international schools in Japan, this month will see the building of a brand new community library on a remote peninsula in north-east Japan. Most of the fishing villages on Oshika-Hanto were washed away by the 2011 tsunami, and very few community spaces remain.

The library will be constructed this month, thanks to donations from UK- and Japan-based individuals and organizations, including Azabu Music Together, Tokyo International Kindercare, Meikei International High School, and the India International School in Japan.
