New publisher for Japan School News

Dear Japan School News readers

The January issue is now in production, and actually, I have some news for you myself … as some of you will now know, from the January issue, Japan School News will have a new publisher — Mojoworks KK. During the last three years I have managed to continue publishing, and to grow, JSN while sharing my time between Japan and the UK, and with a commitment to continue supporting Tohoku. With the addition of a rapidly growing new pickle and chutney business I have in the UK, I have found myself struggling to find the time to continue to grow JSN in the way that the paper, its readers, and you, the schools, deserve. So the time has come for me to hand over the reins to Daniel Lee, at Mojoworks, and his capable team of editors and designers who also produce Kansai Scene.

I have worked with Daniel for many years now, as his company has printed my magazines as well as many other promotional materials for quite some time. He has watched Japan School News grow from the four-page black-and-white newsletter that I launched in May 2010, to the eight-page colour publication it is now. I am very excited to see the next steps he will take with the publication, and I hope you will be too.

It has been such a pleasure to produce Japan School News, and I shall really miss it. But at the same time, I am excited about my pickling venture(!), look forward to continuing to share my time between Japan and the UK while maintaining my Tohoku commitments, and hope to find the time to finish the novel I am a quarter of the way through.

It has been such a pleasure to work with the international schools in Japan. I have enjoyed reading all about the activities at the schools, and enjoyed the relationships that have grown during the past four and a half years. I will still be spending plenty of time in Japan, and know that we shall keep in touch. Many of you have been interested in my Tohoku efforts — please let me know if you would like to continue to be informed about any opportunities for your school to support my future Tohoku projects. There is still so much to be done!

Daniel and the Mojoworks team can be contacted by email at [email protected], but I am sure he will be in touch with you soon. I can still be contacted at [email protected].
